This heater heats small spaces very effectively, is off grid and costs pennies to run on clean burning tealight candles. It costs $2 to make +/- $1.
You need :
Small clay flower pot/planter, costs $1 at most hardware/garden stores, make sure it is actual clay
A metal mesh stationary holder, costs $1.25 at the dollar store
Tealight candles as fuel
The clay absorbs heat very effectively and retains and slowly releases high heat , while the hole at the bottom of the inverted pot is the perfect hand warmer.

A pack of 100 tea light candles costs about $6 at ikea.
Very cool “heater,” by the way! Thanks.
What a great idea, thank you for sharing it. This is also a wonderful solution for those people who are living somewhere without the possibility of installing a cozy fireplace.
I'll get my gardening pots from the basement tomorrow.
