I’m big into this if you don’t mind me weighing in here.
Cocoa is made from cacao beans, you can find it labeled cacao.
The problem with cacao (cocoa) is that the beans absorb heavy metals and toxins like a sponge.
I do not trust major food manufacturers to produce safe food products, and most cocoa producers don’t even bother to check the levels of contaminates in their product.
For cocoa I stick with organic powder from a reputable company like Anthony’s or Viva Naturals.
One teaspoon into a cup of coffee with a small slice of butter, and a teaspoon of MCT oil, and mixed with a battery powered drink mixer makes a damned fine cup of coffee.
good question. I believe one of the processes they use to turn beans into cocoa reduces some of the benefits. I forget which one it is, Belgian or Swiss. Dutch uses "an alkalizing agent", I don't know whether that would adversely affect the beneficial chemicals. Is Dutch the same as Belgian?
Excellent...thanks Grouf!

Cocoa or raw cacao?

Dutch and Belgian- two different countries. Don’t know about the processes they each use though.
